Bob Moses Trail

The Bob Moses MathTrail is named after Robert Moses, a Cambridge-based educator and civil rights activist who considered math literacy a civil right and founded The Algebra Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students from historically marginalized communities develop math literacy. The goal of this mile-long path in The Port neighborhood is to encourage Cambridge residents, especially children and families, to find the fun in math and explore math in the world around them.

Lee Street

At the heart of the Lee Street Park is a series of scavenger hunts that take students on a journey through the park, solving math problems at each stop along the way, encouraging students and families to apply their math skills in real-world situations. These activities are designed to be engaging and interactive, promoting teamwork and problem-solving skills while also reinforcing key math concepts.

Boston Children's Museum

Boston Children's Museum is excited to partner with MathTalk to install engaging and interactive math installations outside. The Museum's is always focused on using play and exploration to facilitate learning, and MathTalk's engaging approach aligns very well with this goal. Not only will this be an appropriate welcome for our Museum visitors, but a way to engage all kids and families visiting the neighborhood.

MathTalk is working together with Brookside Community Health Center to put up a MathTrail in the clinic. These MathTalk exhibits combine physical and digital experiences that inspire grown-ups and kids to discover and explore math all around them.

Brookside Community Health Center

The new ELP center consists of three Head Start classrooms and a State Inclusion classroom. It offers services to approximately 80 children and employs 12 staff members. The MCOE ELP Hartnell STEAM Discovery Academy is made possible by a Federal Head Start Grant intended to expand services.
